Setup or Transfer Utilities

You can call the utilities companies at any time. Tell them you are moving and that you need the utilities transferred into (or out of) your name on the date of the closing of your house.

*If you have an investment property: ask about getting set up as a landlord; this may save you having to pay reactivation fees every time your tenant moves out.

*Note: most cities bill water, sewer, and trash together (through city utilities), but Boise and Eagle bill some of these separately. The title company will usually transfer theses utilities into your name, but it’s best to call to make sure.
